Tamara J. Burroughs
Tami is the Firm’s Tax Partner. Tami uses her international firm experience in taxation, estate, and trust matters to direct the Firm’s efforts in these areas. She is responsible for planning, supervision, and review of all aspects of compliance and consulting tax projects for a variety of clients, including individuals, corporations, S corporations, partnerships, foreign and foreign-owned corporations, tax-exempt entities, trusts, and estates, including preparation and review of tax returns, related and special research projects, tax planning, accrual reviews, and bookkeeping.
Tracy Y. Kimbrough
, CPA , CFST
Tracy is the Firm’s Audit Partner. She manages the Firm’s Audit Department and ensures the efficient and timely completion of all of the Firm’s audit engagements. She has participated in financial and compliance audit engagements for a wide variety of organizations. Tracy has 30+ years of public accounting experience. Her areas of expertise include Yellow Book audits, Federal and Florida single audits, not-for-profit audits and reviews and corporate audits and reviews. Tracy’s audit clients include several service organizations, educational institutions, governmental entities, and wide variety of single audit clients receiving federal and state funds. Tracy is very active in the community and serves or has served as a director or officer for a variety of local not-for-profit and professional organizations.
Karen P. Lean
Karen is the Firm’s Small Business Services Partner. Karen manages the Firm’s Small Business Services where she has been responsible for all accounting and tax reporting activities for monthly, quarterly and annual clients. Karen is proficient in various computerized accounting systems including Bidtek, Timberline, Sage, and Quickbooks, and maintains the Firm’s accounting software. Karen has participated in financial and compliance audit engagements for a wide variety of organizations. Karen is experienced in preparation, review, and research regarding a variety of state tax returns, including income, sales, franchise, tangible and intangible tax returns. She completes and reviews income tax returns of not-for-profit organizations, corporations, S corporation, partnerships and individuals.
Barbara Gracy is a Staff Accountant and also provides QuickBooks assistance and training. Barb has over 19 years of experience in public accounting with an emphasis in bookkeeping and payroll support. She enjoys working with people and lending assistance.
Beth Patteson, CPA
Beth Patteson is a Lakeland native and loves the community settled in this beautiful city. She is driven professionally by the desire to improve the financial lives of her clients, so that they can focus on excelling in their own unique industries. In 1993, Beth graduated in accounting at Auburn University and went on to pursue her master’s degree in taxation at The University of South Florida. After graduation, she earned her CPA license and knew the CPS team was her first choice for working in public accounting, CPS had a reputation for excellence and commitment to its clients and employees which still defines it today. Beth’s pride and joy is her family. After years spent on the soccer fields, her family now spends more time traveling together and hiking, biking and paddle boarding. But her favorite times are still those cool evenings spent on the back porch with laughter, games, music and good food.

Jeff brings to CPS Group, CPAs PA a CPA career spanning more than 50 years, including experience as a partner or officer with three international accounting firms and as the VP of Taxes with a publicly traded Fortune 500 company. He has both a BSBA and MAA degree from the University of Missouri. Jeff contributes his experience with reorganizations, technical research, writing, and correspondence, reviewing federal and state tax provisions for audited financial statements, reviewing federal and state income tax returns and compliance matters, supervising and coordinating federal and state tax return examinations, and preparing private letter ruling requests and requests for technical advice memoranda. He also has specialized industry experience with banks, thrifts, the entertainment industry, professional sports, publishing, retail, and manufacturing and distribution.

Jennifer has over 18 years of experience in the accounting field. She is a graduate of Florida Southern College with Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance. Jennifer participates in the accounting and tax reporting activities for monthly, quarterly and annual clients in our Small Business Services. Jennifer also participates in our audit department. Prior to joining CPS Group, CPAs PA, Jennifer lived in Seattle and worked for a multi-million dollar cable company as a financial analyst.

Khrysta’s professional experience working in industry for over 10 years has given her a wealth of knowledge and exceptional analytical insight into both business operations and auditing. Khrysta coordinates, supervises, and participates in financial and compliance attest engagements for governmental entities, non-profit clients, homeowner’s associations, employee benefit plans and other various industries. She has experience in auditing general government agencies and compliance requirements of the Florida Auditor General, and Federal and State Single Audits.

Nancy has worked in the accounting profession since 1974. Nancy prepares and reviews a variety of federal and state tax returns, including income, sales, franchise and tangible tax returns. She completes and reviews income tax returns of not-for-profit organizations, corporations, S corporation, partnerships, trusts and individuals. Nancy also participates in financial and compliance audit engagements for not-for-profit organizations and pension plan administration.
Pablo joined our firm in the spring of 2017 as a staff accountant in our audit and tax departments. Prior to joining our firm, Pablo worked for another public accounting firm where he had experience in preparing tax returns as well as working on various attest engagements. Prior to public accounting, Pablo worked in a large national grocery retail chain for 9 years, working up to service area manager while attending college full time. Pablo participates in financial and compliance attest engagements for governmental entities, non-profit clients, homeowner’s associations, and other various industries. He focuses on the internal control testing and substantive year end procedures. He has experience in auditing general government agencies, compliance requirements of the Florida Auditor General and Federal and State Single Audits.
Penni was born in NY and moved to Florida with her daughter in 1991 to be near her parents. When she isn’t working, you can find her playing with her 4 grandchildren, or off joining friends in a fun game of billiards, bowling, or karaoke. In 1998 – 1999, Penni was part of the Host Task Force with the Chamber of Commerce where she helped the Chamber with different events around town. Penni joined CPS Group CPAs, PA in 2013 and has over 28 years’ experience in tax administrative duties, and enjoys interacting with our tax clients in helping them with their needs. Prior to 2013, she worked at a local accounting firm in the Audit Department and helped in the Tax Department during busy season.
Sam has over 7 years of accounting experience, including work with national and international firms. Sam is a graduate of Interamerican University of Puerto Rico with a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance. He has worked as an auditor conducting comprehensive financial audits, federal and state compliance audits and agreed upon procedures for local government and nonprofit organizations. Sam prepares and reviews a variety of federal and state tax returns.
Shaun Miller, CPA, CFP®, MAcc
Shaun is practically a native Lakelander since his family moved to Lakeland before he was 1. He has tried out a variety of sports, some rare in Central Florida (water polo, underwater hockey), only to find out that he is not very good at any rare sports along with the common ones. When he is not trying to stay fit, he tries to avoid doing home improvement projects and landscaping projects for his wife. Shaun left Lakeland for Nashville, Tennessee to attend Vanderbilt University and pursue a biomedical engineering degree as he thought that was an interesting field to go into that also would be helping people. After Vanderbilt, he transitioned into the Jesuit Volunteer Corps to help as a social worker working in a low-income neighborhood in Syracuse, New York. Shaun joined the CPS team in 2007 as an intern while attending USF for his accounting degrees just when the recession was getting started. Being part of the CPS team has many times meant assisting the advisors with tax planning and preparation for individuals, entrepreneurs, small business owners, corporations, partnerships, and non-profits. Shaun is passionate about helping CPS clients achieve financial independence. Shaun earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University and his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees of Accountancy (M.Acc.) from the University of South Florida. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Florida and is also a Certified Financial Planner™. He managed to stay married while studying for the CPA and CFP® and is still married.
Taylor Bonnell is a Tax Associate and prepares fiduciary, business and individual tax returns. She is working to obtain both her CPA and CMA. Taylor also performs accounts payable duties for both CPS and clients.

Terry has has over 30 years of accounting experience, focusing on managerial accounting in the private and non-profit sectors before turning to public accounting and joining CPS Group CPAs, PA. She graduated with honors from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Terry prepares and reviews federal and state tax returns for individuals and corporations, participates in audit and review engagements, and performs accounting and tax reporting for Small Business Services. Throughout her career, Terry has also provided accounting services to non-profit organizations on a volunteer basis.
